How do I use these traps?
These traps can be used two ways: flat or
folded. When choosing which way to use the traps be aware the Hobo
Spider might still be alive and could bite something that comes
in contact with it. Determine whether you are going to place the
traps in places that are exposed to people or pets. If it is exposed,
fold the traps as directed in the package and on the traps. This
will reduce the chances of having a small child or pets getting
stuck to the traps and then getting bit by the spider. Click

Placement of the traps is critical. If you
have a place that you frequent see Hobo Spiders traveling, place
the traps in the common pathway of the spiders (usually next to
the walls) and in the corners of your rooms, especially near windows
and other known spider entrances to your home. Feel free to call
for more info or help.

Are the traps poisonous or toxic?
No, our traps are just very sticky and naturally
baited with a pheromone-like scent to attract Hobo and indoor spiders
and other pests. Once stuck to the trap they can not get off and
eventually die, usually with in a day or two. Because of this, Hobo
and Indoor Spider Traps make a good safe alternative to sprays and
chemicals.

What time of year are Hobo Spiders most prevalent?
Hobo Spiders can be found year round but
are most prevalent starting in mid-June and going through late Fall.
During this time it is in search of a mate and seem to be more aggressive.
These spiders also seem to be nocturnal
in nature. Many people have reported seeing and killing as many
as ten Hobo Spiders crawling across their finished basement floors
in the early morning hours of 1:00am to 2:00am. For them these
traps have eased their fears and now they find them caught on the
traps instead of roaming through their homes. Click
here to read stories of people who've been bitten.
Others, including many of our employees,
keep traps placed through out their homes year round and some have
reported nearly 30 Hobo Spiders were caught in their homes through
the winter months. Many of the Hobo Spiders caught were young Hobo
Spiders instead of adult Hobos which are more frequently caught
during the summer months.
By killing the young Hobo Spiders, it will
eliminate the chance for those immature spiders to mature and lay
more eggs, which is great. Also, the immature Hobo Spiders may pose
as a more dangerous threat since its bite may be more potent. So
it is good to trap the young spider before it matures and creates
more spiders. Either way, by placing the traps out year round you
can have peace of mind that you are doing the best thing possible
for controlling the Hobo Spider.

Do the traps catch Brown Recluse Spiders?
Yes, our traps will attract and catch Brown
Recluse Spiders if you place the traps in appropriate locations,
such as under tables, in cupboards, closets, attics, basements,
and any place that isn't visited much. You don't normally see very
many Brown Recluse Spiders because they are "reclusive" and work
at night. Click here
